In this day and age online connectivity is rampant yet people still feel disconnected. Sure there are apps like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, WeChat, and Slack which allow us to communicate our thoughts, share our pictures, collaborate with each other and instantly communicate online but up until now, there hasn’t been an app that allows us to connect with our family, friends, classmates and colleagues easier in person. Digital connections can be useful but what about good old fashioned face-to-face connections? IMMEDIATE AVAILABILITY

What is “Immediate availability”? We get this question a lot. Not to be confused with being online or offline, immediate availability lets your contacts know if you are free right now or if do not want to be disturbed, regardless of what you may or may not have scheduled in your calendar. “Immediate availability” is designed to work in combination with another Calemazoo feature, “Approximate Location”. These two features let you know when others are free now and how far they are away so you can decide who to contact for those spontaneous and last minute plans. They also work great with work, so you can communicate your up to the minute availability on your days off so your boss can quickly see who is available for any last minute needs, like when someone calls in sick or it suddenly gets busy and additional staff is needed.

 

 

APPROXIMATE LOCATION

Ever wonder who is around when you are free? Maybe you are at home or at the mall, bored and wishing there was someone close by you could grab a coffee or catch a movie? With Calemazoo’s “approximate location” feature, you can quickly see who is near by and who is far away. This way you aren’t wasting time trying to connect with people who may be out of town or too far away to fill the time. When trying to fill last minute shifts, employers can narrow down their search to those who are closest to their place of business.

Note: You can turn this feature on/off on a global basis under profile settings, a group basis under settings > groups > permissions and on an individual basis under a contacts calendar view > edit > permissions.

 

MANAGE MULTIPLE SCHEDULES

Calemazoo allows for the intersection of all of your schedules, for work, school, with family and friends. Calemazoo lets you look through your contacts schedules to find time when others are free when you want to see them. For example, if you are planning a BBQ with friends and want to know the best date to have it, Calemazoo helps you by showing you when everyone on your guest list is available and even sends out the invitations.

 

You can also set permissions so only certain groups of people can see certain event types and in what detail. For example, you can turn off visibility of your personal events to your employer so it appears that you are more available to pick up extra work. If you are an employer, you can easily see which staff are available for certain shifts, the future availability of staff and for those last minute needs, quickly see who is immediately available and how far they are away. That way you don’t have to waste any time calling a bunch of people who are not available or too far away to come in when someone calls in sick or doesn’t show up on the day.

 

FUTURE AVAILABILITY

Future availability allows you to manage and communicate when you are available in the future; by updating your calendar, you can simultaneously let others know when you have time for them. This makes life easier and more efficient as you don’t have to update everyone individually and everyone can see when you are available without having to ask. Your privacy is essential, which is why we designed Calemazoo with both group and individual permissions so you stay in control of who sees what and when.
